Is Manchester United Vs Liverpool A Derby Match

Liverpool Relinquish Premier League Title Lead in Chaotic Derby Draw

Salah's Late Penalty Earns Point at Old Trafford

Liverpool's seven-match winning streak came to an end on Sunday as they were held to a 2-2 draw by arch-rivals Manchester United in a pulsating Premier League encounter at Old Trafford.

The match started at a frenetic pace, with both sides creating a host of chances in the opening stages. United took the lead in the 10th minute through Marcus Rashford, who capitalised on a poor clearance from Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker. Liverpool responded well and equalised just five minutes later, with Darwin Núñez finishing off a fine move involving Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The game continued to ebb and flow, with both sides having chances to take the lead. United regained the advantage in the 70th minute when Lisandro Martinez headed home from a corner. However, Liverpool refused to give up and were rewarded with a penalty in the 81st minute after Bruno Fernandes handled the ball in the area. Salah stepped up and coolly converted the spot-kick to earn his side a share of the spoils.

The result leaves Liverpool in second place in the Premier League table, one point behind Arsenal. United, meanwhile, move up to fourth place, just two points behind their rivals. Both teams will be hoping to build on this result and continue their push for domestic glory in the second half of the season.
